Team Member Information
Gopher freshman Trey Davis was born Sept. 1, 1988 to Craig and Kelly Davis of Farmington, Minnesota. Davis played high school football for the Farmington Tigers and was coached by Mark Froehling. As a Tiger, Davis started on both of the offensive and defensive lines. He led Farmington to a 10-1 record and an appearance in the Class 5A Section I championship game his junior season. Trey Davis was ranked as the 31st-best offensive guard in the nation and the fourth-best player in Minnesota by Rivals.
On defense, he was ranked the 62nd-best defensive tackle in the nation and the sixth-best player in Minnesota by Scout. He was named to the Minnesota Vikings All-State Team and was a finalist for Minnesota’s Mr. Football his senior season.
As a three-star recruit, the University of Minnesota wanted to keep Trey Davis in his home state of Minnesota and the Gophers have succeeded in doing just that. Although Davis redshirted his 2007 Gopher football season, he'll be back and ready for the 2008 season. It’s a dream for many Minnesota high school football players to wear the maroon and gold and Trey Davis gets to live his. Go Gophers!
