Team Member Information
Gopher freshman Tony Strouth was born on October 27, 1987 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Tony and Gloria Strouth. Strouth played high school football at Edina High School in Edina, Minnesota under the direction of Edina head football coach Kim Nelson. Playing for Edina, Tony Strouth earned all-conference football honors as a junior and senior and also competed in swimming and track where he was named all-conference.
Tony Strouth redshirted his Gopher football freshman year in 2007. He is an eager University of Minnesota Gopher player and is looking forward to working with head coach Tim Brewster for the 2008 season. As a local Minnesota player, Strouth fits the image that Brewster is trying to project of a Minnesota united Gopher football team and creating a Gopher Nation for the entire state of Minnesota, not just the University. As a 6 foot 240 pound defensive tackle, Tony Strouth will be part of a developing Gopher football team.
The one-time member of the 2007 Gopher football team made a strong impression on Tim Brewster but left the squad at the end of the season to focus on academics.
