Team Member Information
Thomas Hennessey was born May 25, 1987 in Somerset, Wisconsin to Dan and Gwen Hennessey. He is a 2005 graduate of Somerset High School in Wisconsin. Thomas Hennessey played varsity football under the direction of head football coach Bruce Larson.
In high school, Hennessey was named all-conference and all-area in both his junior and senior year and he helped lead his team to the state championship game in 2002 and 2004. Hennessey scored 67 touchdowns during his high school career and rushed an amazing 2,556 yards his senior year alone. He also recorded three interceptions on the defensive side of the ball. An all around athlete, Hennessey also competed in track and played hockey while attending Somerset High School. He graduated with a 3.85 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society.
In 2005 with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, Thomas Hennessey was a redshirted freshman walk- on. As a freshman Gopher football player in 2006, Hennessey participated in a total of 155 plays and appeared in all 13 games, earning the Bobby Bell Award for the Gopher football team’s most outstanding special teams player.
Thomas Hennessey saw playing time in all 12 Gopher football games during his sophomore season in 2007. He is posted seven tackles on the season and earned his second letter.
Thomas Hennessey is a Biomedical engineering major at the University of Minnesota and although a little small for an NFL linebacker, Hennessey is looking forward to developing more skills on the Gopher Football team.
