Ryan Wynn was born August 2, 1989 in Plymouth, Minnesota to Dennis and Nancy Wynn.
As a 2007 graduate of Maple Grove High School, Wynn played his junior and senior high school football under the direction of Maple Gove High School football coach Craig Hansen. Wynn also played football at Osseo High School as a sophomore before transferring.
As a senior, Wynn was ranked as the 13th best player in Minnesota by Rivals and was named to recruiting expert Tom Lemming’s All-Midwest Team. He was selected to the Star Tribune All-Metro Team and named to the Minnesota Vikings All-State Team. As a high school junior, Ryan Wynn led his Maple Grove team to a 9-1 mark and the section playoffs.
Ryan Wynn redshirted his 2007 season for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team. In 2008, Ryan Wynn started all 13 games and helped the offense average 322.9 yards and 23.2 points per game. He helped block for the passing game that generated 2,848 passing yards, the fifth-most in school history. He was also a scholar-athlete award winner. In 2009, he missed the season due to a back injury. Wynn played in three games in 2010 and started against Illinois.
