Gopher Ryan Ruckdashel was born December 5, 1986 to Rick and Candy Ruckdashel of Apple Valley, Minnesota.
The 6’5” Offensive Guard, played high school football at Eastview High School in Apple Valley under the direction of Coach Kelly Sherwin. He was selected to the SuperPrep Midwest Team and ranked as the 18th-best offensive lineman.
Ruckdashel was named to the KARE-11 and Star Tribune All-Metro teams and was a two-time all-conference performer and was also named first team all-state by the Associated Press and second-team all-state by the Pioneer Press his senior season. He was a two-year starter at tackle, helping his team average 5.9 yards per rush.
As a Gopher football freshman, Ryan Ruckdashel appeared in 11 of 13 games. He was a backup offensive lineman who helped the Gophers pass for 2,874 yards on the season, the second-highest total in school history. Ruckdashel was a scholar-athlete award winner and earned a letter his freshman season at the University of Minnesota.
Ryan Ruckdashel's 2007 Gopher football sophomore season found him playing in 10 games as a reserve offensive lineman. He earned a second letter and was a scholar-athlete award winner.
Ryan Ruckdashel is majoring in Physiology at the University of Minnesota and is looking forward to his 2008 season with the Gophers.
