Gopher Sophomore Raymond Henderson was born May 20, 1986 in Oak Creek, Wisconsin to Lenore Henderson. He played high school football for Oak Creek High School in Wisconsin under the direction of Joe Koch. Henderson even had the opportunity to play in the 2005 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and was an all-state selection as a senior. He was an all-region, all-conference and all-suburban selection as a junior and ranked as the eighth-best strong side defensive end in the nation and the second-best overall player in Wisconsin in 2005 by Rivals.
Raymond Henderson decided to attend the University of Tennessee after high school where he redshirted in 2005. He then transferred to the University of Minnesota prior to the 2006 season and had to sit out the Gopher football season due to NCAA transfer rules.
In 2007, Henderson appeared in 6 Gopher football games with 1 start. He ended the season with 3 total tackles against North Dakota State. Henderson earned his first University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football letter in 2007.
As a 6’6” Gopher Defensive End, Raymond Henderson has the ability to be a key component on the Gopher defense. He is excited to suit up for the maroon and gold and play for the Golden Gophers!
