Marcus Jones is from Wake Forest, North Carolina and an incoming freshman for the University of Minnesota Gopphers football team.

Jones graduated from Rolesville High School, and helped lead his team to a 14-2 record and a state Class 4AA runner-up finish. He played both offense and defense, and rushed for 797 yards on just 98 carries last season, an average of more than eight yards per carry, and scored 19 rushing touchdowns for the Cougars in 2010.
