Logan U'u is a 2005 graduate of Skyline High School, famous for grooming well-trained football athletes. U'u was born April 3, 1987 and is the cousin of Gophers football teammate Nedward Tavale.

At Skyline, Logan U'u earned all-city honors and also lettered in track.

After Skyline, Logan U'u played 2 seasons at Laney Junior College in Oakland, California. He helped Laney to a 9-2 season record. U'u's personal record include 18 stops and a sack during his 2006 season.

After joining the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team, U'u redshirted his first season.
