Keanon Cooper was born on October 28, 1989 and graduated from Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas.
At Skyline High School, Keanon Cooper was a 3-year starter and was an essential part of a top-ranked defense that allowed only 203 yards per game. Skyline High School's final record of 12-2 allowed the team to reach the Class 5A Division Region Final.
Keanon Cooper's record includes 141 tackles, 3 blocked punts and interceptions, 4 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.
Keanon Cooper is regarded as a strong tackler who is ranked by ESPN as the number 6 player in Texas. In 2008, Keanon Cooper redshirted. In 2009, he had a breakout season as a redshirt freshman. As a reserve linebacker, he racked up 43 total tackles and produced several strong performances throughout the season. He had 6 tackles against California, blocked a punt as well as registering double-digit tackles against Wisconsin, had his first sack and first forced fumble against Illinois, and also picked up his second career blocked punt late in the game against Illinois. Cooper played in all 12 games and even started 10 as a Sophomore. He was a solid contributor too, recording 68 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss.
