John Nance is a local Minnesota athlete who graduated in 2007 from Cretin-Derham Hall in St. Paul, Minnesota (alma mater of Joe Mauer and Steve Walsh). He was born on November 30, 1989.

In his high school career, Nance was quarterback for the Cretin-Derham Raiders and led the team to a 13-1 record plus a Minnesota Section 4 Class 5A championship game berth. Over his career, Nance completed 164 of 269 passes for 3,020 yards and 23 touchdowns.

John Nance was a standout basketball player in addition to football. He averaged 14.7 points per game as a junior.
