Jewhan Edwards was born February 2, 1989 and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in Philadephia. In high school, Jewhan Edwards was a triple coaches All-Catholic League pick and a 2-time Philadelphia Daily News All-City selection.
In addition to his awards, Edwards contributed to the team's 12-2 record and the Catholic League Red Division title in 2007. Perhaps his bigget play was when he successfully blocked a punt which was recovered for a touchdown in a final tournament game.
Jewhan Edwards will be an asset for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team due to his huge size and explosiveness. Edwards is also known for his hard work ethic, especially in practice. In 2008, Jewhan Edwards earned playing time in 12 games, recording eight total tackles, including a 2-yard tackle for loss. In 2009, he aw action in 12 games as a backup defensive lineman. For the season he recorded eight tackles, four solo ones, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery.
