The Minnesota Golden Gophers are welcoming another player from the south this year as Eric Jacques will put on a Minnesota Golden Gopher jersey this season. At 6’2” and 285lbs, Eric Jacques is an intimidating figure on the field. Born on July 28, 1990 and graduating from Ely High School in Pompano Beach, Florida, Eric Jacques has played on both sides of the ball very well.

Eric Jacques was projected to work for the Golden Gophers defense during his college career and will join as a Minnesota Gopher defensive lineman. His senior year, Eric Jacques tallied 70 over tackles and lead his squad with 5 sacks. After given offers from several major colleges in his native Florida, Eric Jacques chose the University of Minnesota. In 2009, he was reshirted and did not see any action. He didn't play in 2010 either.
