Born on April 15, 1990 in Kettle Moraine, Wisconsin, Dave Schwerman is the second-team kicker for the Minnesota Golden Gophers football team. Now wearing number 43 for the Gophers, Dave Schwerman received a scholar-athlete scholarship award for not only his academics, but also his ability to work under pressure.

At Kettle Moraine High School, Dave Schwerman helped his squad to the Wisconsin State Playoffs in both 2004 and 2007. As a senior, Dave Schwerman was named to the all-state team and lettered four times during his high school years. He is currently the record holder for most points in his high school career. The 6’0”, 196 lb kicker was redshirted by the Minnesota Golden Gophers his freshman year. In 2009, he did not see any action. In 2010, he kicked off 14 times and punted once for 31 yards.
