Daron Love was born on February 28, 1987 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He played high school football at Palm Beach Gardens High School (Florida) before graduating and joining the University of Minnesota Gopher football team in 2006. Love redshirted his freshman season.

Daron Love was an exceptional prep athlete under coach Jack Daniels. The sticky cornerback was ranked the 66th best prospect in the state of Florida by Scout. He helped his team finish 10-1. On the offensive side, Love caught 15 balls for 184 yards and rushed the ball three times for a total of 76 yards.
