Da’Jon McKnight was born on October 11, 1989 and attended Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas. Over the course of McKnight’s high school football career, he was an important part of Skyline’s top-ranked defense which allowed just 203.8 yards per game. This strong defense helped secure Skyline at a 12-2 record and the Skyline Raiders reached the Class 5A Division Region Final.
Da’Jon McKnight is professed to be a player with “Raw talent with great size who can flat-out run”. McKnight started his athletic career early on as a basketball star who later switched to football as a late-bloomer. Scout considers McKnight to be the No. 155 safety in the country.
Da’Jon McKnight is one of four former Skyline players to sign with the University of Minnesota Gophers football team along with Keanon Cooper, Troy Stoudermire and Spencer Reeves. In 2008, he saw playing time in nine games and made the most of his lone reception of the regular season, catching a 22-yard touchdown. In 2009, he recorded all 17 of his receptions for 311 yards in the final five games, after Eric Decker was injured. DaJon McKnight recorded his first 100-yard receving game at the Insight Bowl. He has emerged as one of the go to guys for the 2010 season. McKnight had an unbelievable 2010 season. He led the team with 46 receptions and 705 yards to go along with 10 touchdowns.
