Team Member Information
D.L. Wilhite was born on July 21, 1990 and graduated from Bryan Station High School in 2007 where he was coached in football by Dr. Oliver Lucas.
D.L. Wilhite will be evaluated by the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team to determine where he will best fit in the line-up. With potential to succeed on either side of the ball, Wilhite played primarily as running back yet Scout rates him as the No. 89 defensive end in the country. In 2008, he was redshirted and did not see any action. In 2009, D.L. Wilhite earned Freshman All-Big Ten honors from The Sporting News and Second-Team Freshman All-America honors from Phil Steele. On the season, three of his four tackles were sacks and he recovered two fumbles while forcing one fumble. He returned a fumble recovery for a score against South Dakota State, recording the Gophers’ only touchdown of the game. D.L. Wilhite saw action in 11 games, earned his first varsity letter, and was a member of the Big Ten All-Academic Team. In 2010, he started 8 games as a sophomore and played in all twelve. He recorded 10 tackles and 1 sack.
