Curran Delaney grew up in Victoria, Minnesota.

At Holy Family High School, Curran Delaney was named Most Valuable Player for Holy Family High School in 2008, and also earned the team's Best Defensive Player award twice. Curran Delaney earned All-River Conference honors and recorded the first touchdown, interception and two-point conversion in Holy Family football history.

After high school, Curran Delaney served in the military. He was a volunteer coach in 2009 at Holy Family Catholic. Delaney redshirted during the 2010 season.
