Chris Bunders was born on June 3, 1988 in Maple Grove, Minnesota. He attended and graduated from Osseo High School (Minn.) before joining the University of Minnesota Gopher football team in 2007.

Chris Bunders had a successful high school career that included high rankings at the offensive guard position by Rivals. He was ranked 49th at the position by Rivals and 89th by Scout. The efficient blocker was a 2006 first team AP All-State pick. Bunders was also a pitcher, first baseman and DH at Osseo.

Bunders was redshirted during his freshman season with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team. He was a recipient of the scholar-athlete award. University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football Coach Tim Brewster looks to Bunders' upcoming season to secure his position on the Gophers football team.

Chris Bunders plans on majoring in civil engineering at the University of Minnesota.
