C.J. Cesario was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Attending St. Victor High School, C.J. Cesario earned All-East Suburban Catholic Conference honors as a defensive back in 2006. He helped lead his team to a conference championship in 2006 and served as a team captain in 2007. C.J. Cesario also was a standout sprinter for his high school's track and field team.

In 2010, it will be C.J. Cesario's freshman season with Minnesota. He redshirted the entire 2010 season.
