BRODY GRANDAS DID NOT RECEIVE ANOTHER SCHOLARSHIP TO THE U and WAS FORCED TO LEAVE DUE TO FINANCES, 30 CREDITS SHY OF GRADUATION.
Brody Grandas was born on October 9, 1985 in Woodbury, Minnesota. He attended Cretin-Derham Hall High School in Minnesota before joining the University of Minnesota Gophers football team as a walk on in 2004.
Brody Grandas saw Gophers football action in all 13 games of his sophomore season. He was used mostly on the special teams unit, and recorded seven total tackles on the season. In 2005, the determined linebacker didn’t see any action, but did earn the Defensive Demo Award for outstanding performance on the defensive demonstration team. Grandas redshirted in 2004.
In high school, Brody Grandas was an all-conference selection his senior year, making 87 tackles, two fumble recoveries and three interceptions. As quarterback, he threw for ten touchdown passes and ran for five touchdowns. The versatile Grandas played both strong safety and quarterback in high school. He was also a baseball and track athlete.
Brody Grandas is a University of Minnesota economics major. His brother Bobby also played linebacker for Gophers football.
