Ben Perry hails from Southlake, Texas. As a senior at Carroll High School, Ben Perry led his team to an 11-2 record and to the second round of the Texas Class 5A playoffs. He was named second-team All-District and ranked eighth on the team with 46 total tackles. He also finished second on the team with seven sacks in 2009.

In 2010, it will be Ben Perry's freshman season at Minnesota. Perry redshirted during the 2010 season
