Barrett Moen was born on August 11, 1987 in Bloomington, Minnesota. He attended Bloomington Jefferson High School (Minn.) before joining the University of Minnesota Gopher football team in 2005.
In high school, Barrett Moen competed in four different sports: football, hockey, baseball and track and field.
Barrett Moen was on the University of Minnesota Gopher football squad in 2006 for his freshman season, but did not see any action. The defensive tackle was a redshirt his freshman season after managing to walk-on to the Gophers football team.
Barrett Moen’s sophomore season with the University of Minnesota Gophers football team was very successful and included a transition from offensive guard to defensive tackle. Moen earned more playing time throughout the Gophers football season, and his efforts culminated in an Academic All-Big Ten selection. Additionally, Barrett Moen was a scholar-athlete award winner and earned his first letter. As a solid member of the University of Minnesota Golden Gopher football team, Moen’s upcoming season promises to build upon his sophomore year success.
Barrett Moen is an electrical engineering major at the University of Minnesota. Moen’s uncle is Matt Herkenhoff, an NFL pro of 10 seasons.
