Anthony Jacobs was born on November 16, 1988 in Northfield Minnesota. The big lineman attended Northfield High School (Minn.) before joining the University of Minnesota Gopher football team in 2007.

In high school, Anthony Jacobs was listed as the best lineman in Minnesota by Rivals the third best player in Minnesota by Scout. Jacobs was a 2006 AP All-State player. Jacobs also rushed the ball, gaining 1,107 yards rushing with 13 touchdowns his senior year. He made 49 tackles with two sacks, 618 yards rushing and six touchdowns his junior year.

Anthony Jacobs was redshirted during his freshman year with the University of Minnesota Gopher football team. Gophers football coach Tim Brewster is looking forward to using Anthony Jacobs on the University of Minnesota Gophers football defense this year.
