Andy Brinkhaus was born on August 3, 1988 in Bloomington, Minnesota and attended Bloomington Jefferson High School (Minn.) He joined the University of Minnesota Gopher football team in 2006 and redshirted as a freshman.
In high school, Andy Brinkhaus was an outstanding offensive tackle, as he was selected to the 2005 Associated Press All-State Team. Brinkhaus was also a two-time All-Lake Conference performer. The Star Tribune and Kare-11 honored him with All-Metro selections. The super-strong lineman was also a three-year letter winner in track.
During his freshman season at the University of Minnesota, Andy Brinkhaus did not see any playing time as a member of the Gophers football squad. However, he was a scholar-athlete award winner and Coach Tim Brewster looks to Brinkhaus for future seasons with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team.
Andy Brinkhaus is a pre-liberal arts major at the University of Minnesota. He joins his brother, Tony, on the Gopher football team.
