The Minnesota Twins are a professional baseball team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Twins play their games at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The Minnesota Twins originally started as a charter franchise for the American League in Washington D.C. The Twins were the Washington Senators from 1901 to 1961 before they moved west to Minneapolis and began playing games at Metropolitan Stadium

In 1982, the Minnesota Twins moved inside to the Metrodome in Minneapolis. In 1987 and 1991, the Minnesota Twins achieved greatness by winning the World Series. Twins Players like Kirby Puckett, Kent Hrbek and Rick Aguilera were stalwarts of this great era of Minnesota Twins baseball.

Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins of late have seen great success, winning the American League Central Division in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006. Yet the Minnesota Twins have not won the American League pennant once in this decade. Still, Minnesota Twins tickets are hot because the team is a perennial contender. Twins Players like Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau and Francisco Liriano should be an exciting draw for Minnesota Twins fans for years to come. Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire has been an excellent asset to the team. Gardenhire will do anything he can from the dugout to help the Twins win.

The Minnesota Twins are currently waiting for their new ballpark to be built on the other side of downtown Minneapolis. The Twins are slated to begin play there in April of 2010. Minnesota Twins tickets will be even harder to come by when the new ballpark is built. Long have Minnesota Twins fans traveled to distant ballparks to see their hometown team play baseball the way it was meant to be played - outdoors.

The tentative title of the new ballpark is simply Twins Ballpark, but it will most likely receive a corporate sponsorship soon. Twins Ballpark will be located at the north end of downtown Minneapolis and will be within walking distance of the Target Center. The preliminary plans call for a capacity of 40,000 seats. There will also be 34 bathrooms compared to only 16 in the Metrodome. Every seat in the house is scheduled to have a view of the downtown Minneapolis skyline. Very exciting stuff Twins fans!
